Cross Country Running
After four years, Mike and Mary Manders have stepped down as the Directors and Coaches of the EVAA Cross Country program. Chad Austin will be the new Program Director and Val Svenningsen will be coaching. Registration is open, please register Online now.
Chad and Val are both new to this whole process but they're both very passionate about running and look forward to sharing that passion with the kids. We are open to all ideas, comments and suggestion, so don't hesitate to contact use at Email.

Attention all runners (and those who'd like to be)!
EVAA Cross Country mainly consists of boys and girls in grades 3-6 who reside in the Eastview attendance area. Given that some of the surrounding communities do not have youth cross country programs, we are also open to other ISD 196 residents. There are runners at various levels within the program, many who've never trained before, and some who've done quite well at the state championships. EVAA Cross Country has something to offer for everyone. Running cross country in the fall has also been proven to be a great way of getting in shape for winter sports (basketball, hockey, swimming, wrestling).
The regular season runs from late August through mid October, and the optional MN Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships are held in mid November. There will be approximately 3-4 meets throughout the regular season.
Practices will be held on Mondays and Thursday from 6-7 PM beginning and ending at Johnny Cake Ridge Park, north parking lot. (SE corner of 140th St. & Johnny Cake Ridge Rd.) Practices will include warm-ups, stretching, running games, drills, and time trials. We have 3-4 meets scheduled for the year, plus 3 other optional races. The meets will take place at Johnny Cake Ridge Park, Lakeville, and Apple Valley High School.
The EVAA Cross Country program is considered a traveling program because our runners have the opportunity to run in races with children from other cities within Dakota County (Eagan, Lakeville, Farmington, Rosemount, Apple Valley, etc.). Emphasis will be placed on learning the fundamentals of running and fitness training, improving your running and fitness level as you compete against yourself and the clock, and most importantly, having fun. Parents and siblings are invited and encouraged to run along with their kids for any and all practices.
The cross country schedule listed on this website will be updated as meet locations and dates are confirmed.
